International debate: Is it a Horny Toad or a Horned Toad

I'll just keep calling it whatever I call it until someone corrects me.

official name is horned toad, but the texan colloquial version of that is "horny toad."

or i suppose it could be "hornie toad," but that might be too cute for a toad who is so completely badass.

interesting note- if memory serves, horny toads are not actually toads. they are lizards, and so reptiles. and as we have already covered, proper toads are *amphibians.*

They are totally badass. I'm on the side of the fence that calls them the Horny Toad. Seems much more appropriate when I run around the desert squealing "horny toad!" vs. "I do believe I see a Horned Toad."

i think it depends on what he tries to do with you?

I love horny toads don't see them much anymore. They like to spit from their eyes too. It is a form of protection.
